Lung Ultrasound (LUS)
Overview
Bedside Lung Ultrasound (LUS) is a non-invasive, rapid diagnostic tool used to evaluate lung pathology directly at the patient’s bedside. It is highly effective for detecting conditions such as pneumonia, pleural effusion, pneumothorax, pulmonary edema, and COVID-19-related lung involvement.
Neftaly supports the deployment of bedside lung ultrasound through targeted training, equipment support, and data integration—especially in resource-limited or emergency care settings.
Key Components of Neftaly’s Bedside Lung Ultrasound Program
1. Clinically-Focused Training
- Hands-on training for clinicians, nurses, and emergency staff
- Coverage includes:
- Lung anatomy and sonographic landmarks
- Probe selection and handling
- LUS protocols (e.g., BLUE protocol, 6-zone or 12-zone scanning)
- Interpretation of common findings: B-lines, A-lines, consolidations, pleural sliding
2. Portable Ultrasound Integration
- Support for the use of portable and handheld ultrasound devices
