1. Executive Summary
This report outlines the current health and safety issues identified within DYP facilities. The condition of several key infrastructure components and equipment presents risks that may hinder the effective delivery of Neftaly’s educational programs and compromise the safety and well-being of students, staff, and visitors. In addition to addressing safety hazards, this report also includes a brand-aligned recommendation regarding facility aesthetics — notably the wall color — to better reflect Neftaly’s visual identity.
2. Purpose of the Report
The primary objective of this report is to:
Identify and document current safety and operational challenges.
Evaluate the risk each issue presents to people and operations.
Provide actionable recommendations for immediate and long-term remediation.

4. Health and Safety Implications
The current state of facilities and equipment poses the following risks:
Injury and Legal Liability: Broken flooring, door handles, and ceiling holes may result in accidents.
Disruption of Learning Activities: Inoperable technology reduces the effectiveness of Neftaly’s educational initiatives.
Reputational Risk: Poor maintenance and mismatched aesthetics can reflect negatively on Neftaly’s brand image and credibility.
Non-Compliance: Continued operation under these conditions could breach Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations.
5. Branding & Aesthetic Consideration
As part of the improvements, it is recommended that the interior walls be repainted in a color scheme consistent with Neftaly’s corporate branding, specifically the Neftaly green, instead of the current pink color.
Rationale: Aligning the wall colors with the Neftaly logo (green or white) will reinforce brand consistency, professionalism, and create a more unified and motivational environment for learners and staff.

7. Conclusion
Diepsloot Youth Project currently faces a number of health, safety, and operational challenges that must be addressed as a matter of urgency. The issues highlighted in this report, if left unresolved, will continue to impact the safety of the facility, disrupt educational services, and diminish the organization’s professional image. A coordinated repair and renovation effort — including branding updates — is essential for ensuring a safe, functional, and inspiring environment for all stakeholders.
