Neftaly’s Mission to Improve Health in Burundi by Reducing the Burden of Tuberculosis
Tuberculosis (TB) continues to pose a serious public health threat in Burundi, particularly among vulnerable and hard-to-reach populations. At Neftaly, we are committed to improving the overall health and well-being of the Burundian population by actively contributing to the reduction of TB through a combination of community engagement, health system strengthening, and targeted interventions.
Our Commitment:
Neftaly believes that no one should suffer or die from a preventable and curable disease like TB. We work alongside local stakeholders, health authorities, and international partners to combat the spread of TB and support affected individuals and families.
Key Focus Areas:
- Health Education and Awareness: We conduct targeted TB awareness campaigns to inform communities about TB prevention, symptoms, transmission, and the importance of early treatment.
- Early Detection and Referral: Neftaly supports outreach and screening efforts, especially in underserved rural and peri-urban areas, to ensure timely diagnosis and linkage to care.
- Treatment Support and Adherence: We assist patients throughout their treatment journey by offering counseling, peer support, and community-based follow-up to improve treatment completion rates and prevent drug-resistant TB.
- Community Empowerment: By training community health workers and local volunteers, Neftaly strengthens community capacity to identify, report, and manage TB cases more effectively.
- Policy Advocacy and Partnership: Neftaly works with national and regional partners to advocate for stronger TB control policies, improved access to diagnostics and medicines, and increased investment in health systems.
Our Impact:
By focusing on prevention, early intervention, and sustained treatment support, Neftaly contributes directly to reducing the burden of TB, enhancing community health, and strengthening Burundi’s ability to respond
