Neftaly’s Commitment to Ending Tuberculosis as a Public Health Threat in Ethiopia by 2030
Tuberculosis (TB) remains one of Ethiopia’s most pressing public health challenges, impacting thousands of lives and placing significant strain on the country’s health system. In alignment with Ethiopia’s national health strategy and global targets, Neftaly is committed to contributing to the mission of the health sector to end TB as a major public health problem by 2030.
Our Mission:
To support national efforts that aim to reduce TB incidence, improve treatment outcomes, and eliminate TB-related deaths through innovative, community-driven, and sustainable approaches.
How Neftaly Contributes:
- Community Awareness & Education: We empower communities with accurate, culturally appropriate information to reduce stigma, encourage early health-seeking behavior, and promote TB prevention and care.
- Case Detection & Referral: Neftaly supports active case finding in high-burden and underserved areas, ensuring individuals with symptoms are promptly referred for testing and treatment.
- Treatment Support & Adherence: Through patient-centered care models, peer support groups, and mobile health tools, we help TB patients complete their treatment successfully and avoid relapse.
- Capacity Building for Health Workers: We train frontline health workers in TB detection, infection control, and community outreach to strengthen Ethiopia’s primary healthcare response.
- Partnership & Coordination: Neftaly collaborates with the Ethiopian Ministry of Health, regional health bureaus, and other stakeholders to align efforts with the National TB Strategic Plan and the WHO End TB Strategy.
Our Impact by 2030:
- Reduced TB burden in high-risk communities
- Improved case detection and treatment success rates
- Stronger community engagement in TB control and prevention
- Enhanced health system capacity for sustained TB response
Neftaly stands with Ethiopia in the fight to end TB—not just as a health priority, but as a matter of social justice, economic resilience, and human dignity.
